Woodwork on Tuesdays Functional Design & Craft was a wonderful & beneficial experience for the children. Jas taught the common woodwork tools, functions & safety. Each child was guided & encouraged to attempt woodwork, such as hammering a nail, sawing & sanding. All in preparation for making hanging boxes in the next class.
Promoting fun association to health & the importance of warming up the muscles before physical activity. On our walk we encountered the remaining of controlled Burning areas, which was explained to the children. We spoke of the reasons & effects of Controlled fires on animals & plant habitats.

When a child receives a balance of creative thinking with knowledge it forms more meaning. A sensory experience inspires a topic not just with the mind but all the body. Especially enriching for active, sensitive & tactile needs of a child.
Learning about Ancient Greece with Scetching techniques with Charcoal. Charcoal was used 40,000 years ago as the first medium of drawing. In our class we discovered the significance of the Greece Alphabet to Today s English , the climate & Geography of Islands.
Wow! I was sooo excited to do this for the children, the beach looked so clear the waves broke slowly for a memorable learning experience. Our New “Functional Craft & Design” is ongoing projects that is booked out for half the term. Creative Maths has really proven to motivate & inspire the children s interest & Science is super fascinating to end the Week on what we call “Fantastic Fridays” !!!

Learning of humans similarity of behaviours to animals were discovered in our “Learning about Aboriginal History through Art Class”. The class was lead with a Spirit animal quiz from Tahlia & then intricate multi media representations of that animal followed.
A natural flow of hand & eye coordination was guided with the children and lovely to witness.
